Do I need spin shoes?
You don’t need spin shoes. You can wear regular running shoes. Once you are spinning regularly, you might decide to invest in a pair. They do have some advantages (see our spin shoe article in the New and Events section), and we can guide you in your decision. If you do have shoes, our pedals are SPD MTN compatible.
Do I need a beginner spin class? I have never been to spin.
No, the beauty of indoor cycling is that we can all ride together, regardless of experience or fitness. Let us know you are new and we will help you set up your bike and get comfortable. We encourage everyone to start where they are – the instructor will make suggestions, but it’s your bike, your ride. Challenge yourself and do what you can, knowing that you can always take your tension up or down, or sit down when you need to.
